Healthy Power Smoothie Recipe

This green drink is loaded with nutritional benefits! Baby greens are full of iron and fibre both needed to keep our energy up and internal systems running smoothly. All leafy greens are excellent sources of vitamin C, bone-strengthening vitamin K, folate, calcium, magnesium and potassium. They also deliver plenty of beneficial phytochemicals including beta-carotene, lutein and flavonoids.

The lemon juice and the frozen fruit in this smoothie provide a large amount of our vitamin C requirements along with flavonoids to provide us with additional antioxidants. Pineapple aids in digestion and with its high content of manganese it can also help with bone health. Chia seeds contain calcium, fibre, iron and a good dose of omega-3 fatty acids.

Cucumber and celery contain hydrating and cleansing properties; while protein powder packs a good punch of essential amino acids to help our muscles recover and build more muscle. Both turmeric and ginger are strong anti-inflammatory sources and have also been shown to help with other ailments. This green drink is a powerhouse of nutrition and is the perfect way to start your day!
